The TMU Moot

Join us at Toronto Metropolitan University’s inaugural moot court competition, this coming January 2026. More information on how to register coming soon!

The TMU Moot is where legal brilliance meets intense advocacy. TMU hosts this thrilling two-day event annually, where aspiring lawyers come together to showcase their skills in a round-robin system. Competitors will engage in four captivating moots against various teams, vying for the top four spots that will secure their passage to the knockout stage on day two. Witness the drama unfold as the finalists battle it out, presenting their most compelling arguments to claim the coveted title. With esteemed lawyers, law students, and professors as judges, this competition will be a true test of legal understanding. The winning team will be rewarded with both a certificate and a special prize. Be a part of this historic occasion by marking your calendars and joining us for a celebration of advocacy, knowledge, and determination.

How to Moot Workshop

Join us in the CPA Lounge (TRS 1-003) on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. to learn more about mooting and gain insight into the legal world.

This is a beginner-friendly intro to legal advocacy, argument-building, and courtroom presentation. Participants will learn effective strategies to present compelling arguments, be clear and concise, maintain composure while speaking in front of others, and find opportunities to work on their oral advocacy skills. The workshop will be run by professors, lawyers, and accomplished law school students.

Blacklight Party (18+)

Join us at The Met Campus Pub (63 Gould St.) on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. for an unforgettable night lit up with neon vibes, high energy, and nonstop excitement. Tickets are $5 at the door, make sure to bring both your OneCard and Government ID to enter! First come, first served.

This event is open to the TMU community only: each TMU student can bring one non-TMU guest.

Please note you must be of legal age to be served alcohol (19+). No backpacks or large bags allowed in the venue.
